Durham Regional Police Service says two people were seriously injured after a single-vehicle collision in Uxbridge.
Members of North Division responded on Wednesday, May 6, at about 3:55 a.m. to the area of Allbright Road and Uxbridge Concession Road 6.
Police said a 26-year-old man was driving a Porsche SUV eastbound on Allbright Road when the vehicle left the road and came to rest in a wooded area.
The driver and a 24-year-old female passenger were able to get out before the vehicle caught fire. Both were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries that police described as non-life-threatening.
DRPS said the driver has since been released from hospital, while the passenger was transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre for further care.
The DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Police are asking anyone with cell phone video, dash-cam footage, surveillance footage, or information to contact investigators.
