Durham Regional Police Service says two people were seriously injured after a single-vehicle collision in Uxbridge.
Police said members of North Division responded at about 3:55 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, to the area of Allbright Road and Uxbridge Concession Road 6.
According to DRPS, a 26-year-old man was driving a Porsche SUV eastbound on Allbright Road when it left the roadway and landed in the woods.
Police said the driver and a 24-year-old female passenger were able to get out of the vehicle before it caught fire. Both were taken to a local hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
DRPS said the driver has since been released from hospital, while the passenger was transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
The DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and the collision remains under investigation. Anyone with cell phone video, dash-cam footage, surveillance footage, or information is asked to contact D/Cst. Kollaard at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5267.
